This year’s event theme was “An Attitude of Gratitude” and included a keynote address by Tameka Jackson-Leung, DHSc, who teaches the Diversity in Healthcare course and serves as an instructor for the Community Dimensions of Medicine course in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and Professional Studies. The event also featured an art workshop led by Guangyu Zhang, a graduate student in the Drexel College of Nursing and Health Professions Creative Arts Therapies program. Drexel’s therapy dogs were on hand to provide stress management and comfort to all attendees.

Three Interdisciplinary Health Sciences program students gave oral presentations on art-based employment, neuroimmune interactions in people with depression and HIV, and addressing health care gaps in underserved communities. During the poster session, 17 posters featuring laboratory, clinical and independent research, and eight community service and volunteering posters were presented by students in pre-med/pre-health programs.
