Applications for the 2024/25 academic year are now open.

The Division of Pre-medical and Pre-health Programs offers the unique Evening Post-baccalaureate Pre-medical (PMED) program for individuals with a non-science baccalaureate degree who wish to pursue a career in the health professions. Changing careers can be a challenging decision for individuals to make. This program will help candidates transition into a new career by allowing them to maintain their current position while completing the prerequisite coursework for application to medical, dental, physician's assistant, veterinary, or other health professional schools. The part-time PMED curriculum consists of didactic and laboratory courses. It is delivered on-campus in the evening or in a hybrid format with asynchronous didactic and on-campus laboratory courses. The program is housed in the new state-of-the-art Health Sciences Building on Drexel University's main campus in the heart of University City in Philadelphia. This certificate program is not eligible for federal financial aid.

Meet Alexa Ariazi

"I knew I was going to need to work while completing the program, and Drexel’s PMED program is one of the few post-baccs that have evening classes, allowing you to work full time during the day [...] I was hoping to join a program where you could get to know the faculty and be in a smaller class size, which is the case with PMED." Academic Advising

Gaining admission into a medical or other health professional school is very competitive. A student in the program must excel in the science courses. Free tutoring services are available on campus. In addition, applying to medical school is a very tedious and a time-consuming task. The director and dedicated administrator of the Evening Post-baccalaureate Pre-medical program are available to students within the program to assist with this endeavor.
