Batts Health Equity & Inclusive Excellence Dinner
The 2024 Batts Health Equity & Inclusive Excellence Dinner is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the graduating students who have been personally impacted by health care disparities, socioeconomic or educational barriers.
The celebration will also act as a fundraiser to raise money for the Dr. James A. Batts Student Fund, which will support students with their education expenses, conference fees, test preparation materials and tuition support. We hope to see you on May 7!

Whether you’re planning to attend the event yourself or are just interested in supporting the Dr. James A. Batts Student Fund, we welcome gifts for College of Medicine students to attend the Batts Health Equity & Inclusive Excellence Dinner. Gift options include:

About Dr. Batts
James A. Batts Jr. joined the staff at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1979 and retired as senior attending physician and professor emeritus in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Batts had an interest in increasing the number of underrepresented medical students and regularly recruited and mentored aspiring doctors. Each year, Dr. Batts hosted a party at his own expense for underrepresented students and faculty at MCP. We are proud to return to the tradition of naming the Health Equity & Inclusive Excellence Dinner in his honor.
