On November 7, 2018, the College of Medicine's South Asian Medical Students Association celebrated Diwali. They invited the College of Medicine community to come and learn about what Diwali symbolizes. Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights, which is celebrated every autumn, symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Members of the South Asian Medical Students Association provided free samosas, invited students to color mandalas and decorate their own cookies, and gave henna tattoos.
