We are pleased to announce that we have reestablished Drexel University College of Medicine Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship program in the Tower Health System. We are very excited about this opportunity to train future child and adolescent psychiatrists in one of the largest healthcare systems in Pennsylvania. To apply, please go to ERAS and search for "Tower Health Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program 4054140177" and continue to view our program description below.

Application Process

We accept four fellows each year. We recruit outstanding physicians with a wide array of strengths and interests. Our program also offers an Early Identification Track. This allows a medical student applicant interested in child and adolescent psychiatry to apply for simultaneous acceptance to both the general psychiatry and the child and adolescent psychiatry training programs at the time of their general psychiatry residency match.

Curriculum

Our program provides exceptional depth and breadth of clinical exposure. We have one of the largest numbers of affiliates and partner agencies. Our fellows learn first-hand how to function as competent child and adolescent psychiatrists in a wide variety of settings. There are no on-call and no weekend clinical responsibilities across the two years of training. Our didactic curriculum takes a broad view of the field, with value placed on development, evidence, conceptual models and practical clinical tools. Every week across the two years, Thursday is a fully protected day for didactics and supervision.

There is robust emphasis on developing strong leadership skills and scholarly thinking, and participation in research endeavors. We create many such opportunities for our fellows at the departmental, institutional, regional and national levels. We also provide protected time for fellows to pursue their scholarly interests.
