Accreditation
One key responsibility of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness is oversight of all Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM) accreditation processes.
The College of Medicine MD program is accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), an organization jointly sponsored by the American Medical Association (AMA) and the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), the purpose of which is to provide a voluntary, peer-based evaluation of a program’s compliance with accepted standards for educational quality. The LCME typically conducts accreditation surveys on an eight-year cycle. DUCOM has been LCME-accredited since the inception of the LCME in 1942 and was granted continuation of full eight-year accreditation status during its last accreditation survey in March 2021.
The accreditation status of the MD program may be verified via the LCME website or by contacting lcme@aamc.org.
