Part of the nationally recognized UPMC health care system, UPMC Altoona is a nonprofit community health care provider with a 335-bed acute-care teaching hospital, the region’s only Level III Trauma Center, several state-of-the-art outpatient centers, a surgery center, and a large local network of health care providers covering over 20 different specialties, with locations spanning across six Pennsylvania counties.
UPMC Altoona provides hospital care and access to walk-in and outpatient centers throughout West Central Pennsylvania, including cancer treatments through UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, a full range of heart care services in partnership with the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute, comprehensive care for women supported by UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, and a Joint Commission-certified Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center.
