Turn Off Email Notifications in Outlook 2007
When an email notification icon pop-up appears indicating that you have received new email, it's tempting to stop work and open your new message(s) immediately. Here's how you can temporarily turn off the notification and then check your email when it is convenient for you:

  1. In Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, click Tools > Options > E-mail Options > Advanced E-mail Options.
  2. In the middle of the dialog box, clear the “Display a New Mail Desktop Alert” check box.

Rearrange Paragraphs in Word
Moving paragraphs in Microsoft Office Word can be complicated.  Here's a quick and easy method:

  1. Select the paragraph you want to move by triple-clicking it.
  2. Press and hold the mouse button and drag the paragraph to where you'd like it to appear.
  3. Release the mouse button.

Paste Values Instead of Formulas in Excel 2007
Sometimes you want to copy the values within a series of cells rather than the formulas in those cells. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Select the cells that contain the values you want to copy.
  2. Right-click the selected cells, and click “Copy” (or use shortcut key combination “Ctrl + C”).
  3. Select the cells where you want to paste the copied values.
  4. On the “Home” tab, in the “Clipboard” section, click the down arrow on the “Paste” button.
  5. Click “Paste Values.”

Use the Arrow Keys to Finely Adjust Drawing Objects in PowerPoint
You can use either the mouse or the keyboard to move drawing objects (text boxes, shapes, WordArt, and graphics) in PowerPoint.  To move objects using the keyboard:

  1. Select a drawing object you want to move.
  2. Press the up, down, left, or right arrow key to move the object in that direction by one large increment.
  3. If you want to move the object by small increments, press “Ctrl” and an arrow key. Your object will only move one-tenth as far, allowing you to position it just where you want it.
