Approval Process & Authorization

Instructions for Mass Email Approvers

Faculty and staff members who want to send mass emails to the University community should seek approval from their department officials (usually, but not always, the department's Senior Vice President/Provost or Vice President/Provost).

All mass emails sent out through IT (except special mailings) require the approval of one of the individuals listed in the table below. Please keep the following points in mind:

The official authorizing the message forwards it, along with a short message stating that the mass email has been approved, directly to mailreq@drexel.edu.
An authorizing official may delegate mass mailing approval authority to another person by notifying IT in writing.
If an official's trusted sender customarily transmits approved messages for mass mailing to mailreq@drexel.edu, that staff member's written statement of the official's approval may be accepted in lieu of a signature.

A list of the authorizing officials is provided below. If you are an approving official, please let the Mass Mailing team know at mailreq@drexel.edu if any of the below information is incorrect.
