Welcoming Back the Wellness Incentive Program for 2025

Healthiest 100 Employers in America

Drexel University and its employee wellness program, A Healthier U, has for the third year in a row received recognition from Springbuk as one of the 100 healthiest workplaces in America! This award honors organizations in the United States for creating exceptional workplaces that their highly value their employees through programs that integrate mental health benefits, telehealth options and virtual fitness/health and nutrition coaching. For 2024, Drexel was ranked #38 of the 100 winners. The six pillars of wellness used to evaluate Drexel and other employers include: Culture and Leadership Commitment, Programming and Interventions, and Communications and Marketing, among others.

This month kicks off Drexel’s Wellness Incentive Program for 2025. Improve your health and earn money by participating in health-promoting activities and challenges. All full-time and part-time benefits-eligible faculty and professional staff enrolled in a Drexel medical plan, or full-time employees who waive medical coverage, are eligible to earn up to $400 during this program, which runs annually from Jan. 1 to Nov. 30. Spouses and domestic partners (“partners”) who receive medical insurance through Drexel, or partners of full-time employees who waive medical coverage, are also eligible to participate and earn up to $250. For every point you or your partner earns, you will receive $1 in your paycheck as a taxable benefit. Please read on for more details on how to get started and what’s new in the program this year.

Get Started With Your Annual Personal Health Profile

The Personal Health Profile (PHP) must be completed each year before you are eligible to receive any payouts in your paycheck. Your PHP will provide a glimpse of your overall health. If you aren’t sure about your cholesterol levels or other health indicators, Health Advocate, the Wellness Incentive Program’s administrator, makes it easy to fill in your best estimate so that you can receive a snapshot of your overall health. Log in to the Wellness Incentive Program at healthadvocate.com/Drexel. Compare year-over-year results and watch your health improve!

Schedule Your Annual Biometric Screening

Drexel will offer onsite biometric screenings on the University City Campus on Tuesday, February 18, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. This event is open to both employees and their eligible partners. This screening requires only 15 minutes of your time and is a great way to capture an overall snapshot of your health. If you are not interested in an onsite screening, you can follow the instructions on the HR website, or in the Health Advocate portal, to schedule an appointment directly at LabCorp to complete your biometric screening. Participants who complete their screening will receive 100 program points ($100). Register on Health Advocate.

Get Paid for Prevention in 2025

Quick & Easy Process for Self-reporting Preventive Care

Preventive care is a great way to improve your well-being, and you can earn 50 points per preventive care visit, and up to 200 preventive care points total. Eligible preventive care exams include an annual physical, vision exam and screenings for: breast cancer, cervical cancer, colon cancer, osteoporosis, prostate cancer and skin cancer. Claim points for these preventive care exams quickly and easily by self-reporting on Health Advocate: Simply upload proof of your visit, which may include an “Explanation of Benefits” from Independence Blue Cross, a receipt, a bill, or other documentation that demonstrates that you received a preventive care exam. Any preventive care exams you may have completed in December of 2024 are eligible for points in this year’s Wellness Incentive Program.

Earn Points for Dental Cleanings

Dental health is an important component of your overall well-being; regular dental cleanings can help prevent heart disease and inflammation, and even lower your risk of a stroke. You can earn 50 points for each dental cleaning/exam that you complete annually, for up to 100 points. Please note that claims from Cigna will not be sent automatically to Health Advocate. You must self-report your dental visits by uploading proof of visit (an “Explanation of Benefits” from your dental insurance provider, or a bill or a receipt from your visit are all acceptable proof of visit).

Learn More About the 2025 Program While Earning $15

Benefits-eligible faculty and professional staff are invited to register for the Jan. 22 webinar, “Navigating the Wellness Incentive Program.” Earn 15 wellness points ($15) for attending, and learn how to optimize your well-being through different features of the Wellness Incentive Program. Please register in Career Pathway at least 24 hours in advance to attend this event. While only employees are eligible to earn points for this session, partners are welcome to watch and learn alongside the employee.

Stay Healthy & Happy Together With Your Partner

Spouses and domestic partners who receive medical insurance through Drexel, or partners of Drexel employees who waive coverage, are also invited to participate in the Wellness Incentive Program. Eligible partners will be able to earn up to $250, paid via the employee’s monthly check.

Partners will have access to their own secure portal to complete activities. Like employees, they must complete their 2025 PHP before any of their incentive payouts are processed.

Drexel employees who are married to/partnered with another Drexel employee must maintain separate health insurance plans provided by Drexel for both spouses to be eligible for the full $400 employee wellness benefit. If one member of the couple is covered under their partner’s Drexel health insurance plan, that individual will be considered the “spouse/partner” in the program and will only be eligible for the $250 incentive.
