Electronic Faculty Annual Reviews (FARs)

Faculty Annual Reviews (FARs) will be completed electronically and archived centrally in HR. Some schools and colleges have their own electronic systems in place and will continue to use them. All others will complete the process using Career Pathway. FARs will be assigned automatically to those using the Career Pathway system. Those faculty members and department heads will receive automatic emails containing instructions for completing the FAR.

The electronic system offers the following advantages:

  • Little need to copy and paste teaching, research, and service metrics from system to system; most should be included in the CV that faculty will upload when completing the review, and department heads and their delegates will have access to the source systems, including Banner and AEFIS.
  • Electronic storage in a single system, providing future access with no need to scan paper evaluations and send them to Faculty Affairs or Human Resources.

Full-time faculty hired on or after July 1, 2025, will not complete a faculty annual review for 2025.

Access

Faculty access in Career Pathway:

  • Log in to Career Pathway via the Employee tab in DrexelOne.
  • At the bottom-left under the My Career channel, click the Career Pathway link.
  • Under the Your Tasks box on the Welcome page, click on the annual review (Complete FAR) to begin.
  • Complete all sections and submit the review when finished.

Department Head access in Career Pathway:

  • Log in to Career Pathway via the Employee tab in DrexelOne.
  • At the bottom-left under the My Career channel, click the Career Pathway link.
  • Under the Your Tasks box on the Welcome page, click on the annual review (Complete Department Head Review) to begin.
  • Complete all sections including the overall rating and submit the review when finished.

Tips for Completing the FAR

  • You can use the save-and-exit button in the evaluation at any time and return to complete it; there’s no need to complete it in one sitting.
  • You can use the back button to return to a previous screen.
  • Each field in the review will accept a maximum of 10,000 characters.
  • The system will not accept complex formatting (i.e., tables).
  • Prepare your highlighted CV (using the checklist [PDF] as a guide) to upload into the system — the maximum file size is 1 MB.
  • Gather information to respond to prompts in the review (see PDF example for prompts).
  • Up to three attachments can be included in the evaluation — this includes your highlighted CV.

Frequently Asked Questions

Contact your department head or the delegate that is completing the department head section of the review and ask them to reopen the faculty step. See the next question for instructions.

If the review is in the department head review step, access the review and select the Reopen Step button at the bottom of the Overview page. If the review is in any other step, email hr@drexel.edu for assistance.

Access the review and click on the Options drop-down menu at the top-right of the Overview page. Select Add Co-Planner. Type the last name of the delegate in the search box and select the correct name. Select Submit or Save.

The co-planner will be able the access the faculty member’s review and add their feedback, but they may not receive the email prompts — only the department head will receive those prompts. Please keep in touch with any delegates to ensure the process is moving along.

Additionally, once the department head or co-planner submits the review, it’s no longer available to either — it moves on to the next step in the process. Be sure that the department head and co-planner only select the Save button until the department head step in the process is complete, at which one of them can select the Submit button.
