Coping With Tragedy: Resources from SupportLinc
Drexel University is saddened and horrified by yet another mass shooting that occurred in the south Texas city of Uvalde at Robb Elementary School, less than two weeks after the tragic shooting at a Buffalo, New York, grocery store. Whether there is direct or indirect trauma and grief, we understand that reactions to tragic events may look different for everyone, and we want to acknowledge your pain and frustration, and that of your families.
Drexel University's Employee Assistance Program provider, SupportLinc, has a number of tipsheets with information and resources to help you and your family recognize and cope with the understandable emotional responses felt after a tragedy, and ways to support and engage in empathetic and impactful conversations with both your colleagues and loved ones.
You can find more resources on SupportLinc's website: log in with the username “drexel” under the Web Access section of the homepage, and navigate to the "Resources" section to find more tipsheets. To connect with a live SupportLinc representative, call their 24/7 helpline at 1.888.881.5462. Visit Drexel's Employee Assistance Program website for more information.
