The Cybersecurity Support Technician apprenticeship prepares you to begin working in the in-demand and high paying cybersecurity industry as a Cybersecurity Support Technician. Cybersecurity Support Technicians play an essential role in safeguarding all aspects of their employers’ information technology systems. They are tasked with monitoring, directing, containing and remediating information technology threats for the protection of computer networks and company information. Cybersecurity professionals demonstrate broad expertise and may be additionally tasked with anything from installing, administering and troubleshooting security solutions to creating security policies and training documents for colleagues.
Over the next decade, the need for digital skills will grow by 69% and so will the need for technology professionals. Factors like cloud computing, cybersecurity and data management are contributing to an increasing need for individuals with both IT skills and experience in the field.

Earn three CompTia® industry certifications: A+, Network + and Security + Related Technical Instruction (RTI) with three (3) Drexel University College of Computing and Informatics (CCI) courses*:
- Introduction to Computing and Security Technology
- Information Technology Security I
- Network Administration I
*These courses are part of the (CCI) Computing and Security Technology, Bachelor of Science degree program. The competencies and certifications earned in the apprenticeships have been evaluated and approved for up to 15 credits in the Computing Security and Technology (CST) degree program.
Cybersecurity Technician Apprentice Eligibility
- Possess a high school or high school equivalency diploma
- Must have completed:
- One year of entry level IT employment, internship or pre-apprenticeship or
- Possess at least one IT industry credential or
- Have graduated from a CTE high school; or engaged IT related extra-curricular activities
- Test at or above a 10th grade level on a standardized Reading and Math exam
