Mission and History

Drexel Main Building

Mission

To provide equitable access to a high-quality, career-focused education informed by Drexel’s long tradition of experiential learning, preparing organizations and students of all backgrounds to find success and fulfillment in the workforce.

Goodwin College of Professional Studies lives a mission that dates back to the founding of Drexel University and recognizes that success—whether for an adult student balancing life while attempting to earn a degree, or for a traditional student highly motivated in a specific area of study—can only come as a result of an educational environment steeped in flexibility, support and opportunity.

With a variety of delivery modes including traditional day, evening, online, on-campus and corporate options, Goodwin College’s programs are a unique reflection of the strengths of Drexel University and the educational needs of the communities we serve.

Richard C. Goodwin

Named in his honor, Drexel University's Goodwin College of Professional Studies is sincerely thankful to Richard C. Goodwin, whose generosity resulted in the renovation of the College's facilities to include state-of-the-art computer labs, as well as labs in support of the Engineering Technology program. This generous gift enabled Goodwin College to continue to provide practical education in several areas of technology, applied management and liberal studies to all students.
