Military Transition Program Speaker Series
The Goodwin College of Professional Studies is hosting the Military Transition Program (MTP) lunch social, sponsored by the Mr. Thomas A. Masci, Jr. fund, on the fourth Thursday of each month. All MTP students are invited to join their peers, Goodwin College leadership, and University campus partners to engage, network and enjoy lunch! Special guest speakers will share their knowledge on special topics such as mental health and service animals. We are excited to have you come to the Goodwin suite, be celebrated as our much valued students, University community members and veterans.

Sammy Gilligan: Grit, Resilience and Perseverance
The session focused on resilience and perseverance. College is a difficult task and Sammy Gilligan believes that it is more difficult as an adult learner. Veterans have a unique set of experiences that separates them from their peers. The session highlighted the positive experiences and negative experiences of transitioning out of the military and how to have a successful college experience as a unique adult learner.
Alicia Kennedy & Jennifer Green: Alpha Bravo Canine: Service Dogs Helping Veterans
Alpha Bravo Canine is the only non-profit in Greater Philadelphia to raise, train, and donate service dogs to veterans suffering from mental, emotional, and physical combat-related disabilities. These highly skilled service dogs support the physical and emotional wellbeing, quality of life, daily functioning, and independence of veterans. This session will include discussions on service dog skills and training, ADA application and compliance, and interacting with service dogs in public.
Olivia McDonald: The Greater Philadelphia Veterans Network: Adjusting to a Post-Military Lifestyle
Starting lost and alone in a new city, Olivia McDonald shares her story adjusting to society after leaving the Marine Corps. By pushing out of her comfort zone, she entered the community and built a career rooted in the Philadelphia veteran community. With a focus on the importance of ‘networking’, creating opportunities, and defining your own success, come listen to Olivia give advice on adjusting to a post-military lifestyle.
Tiffani Worthy, EdD: All Things Possible Foundation: Unlimited Paths to Purpose
Dr. Tiffani Worthy's service as a combat veteran and career in private sector developed her keen eye for details, focus on accountability, and drive for results. Using a consultative approach rooted in strategic analysis and inclusive perspectives, Dr. Worthy delivers solutions to complex challenges and achieves results. She plans to teach her mission of enhancing organizational culture, optimizing performance, and creating inclusive workplaces through capacity building.
Ronna Yablonski: SAFE Project: No Shame Education Program
The No Shame Education Program informs participates of the disease of addiction, and give the participants the tools to empower others through encouraging treatment and recovery.
