Timeline and Deadlines
The study abroad application process may seem daunting, but students who stick with our suggested timeline will be right on track to submit their application on time. It's ideal to start planning 12-18 months ahead for a full-term study abroad program. Outlined below are the steps students will need to take prior to the application deadline:
- 18 months before departure: Attend a Study Abroad 101 session and talk with your academic advisor about studying abroad.
- 12 months before departure: Review programs online, narrow down your program of choice, and email studyabroad@drexel.edu to set up an appointment with a study abroad advisor to open an application.
- Application process: to complete the application, you will need to submit an essay and short answer questions, 2 recommendations, a course approval form, and submit your scholarship applications.
- *Application deadlines:
Fall Term |
March 1 |
Winter Term |
August 1 |
Spring Term |

- 2-4 weeks after deadline: decisions will be made and post decision materials be will released
