At Drexel's Dornsife School of Public Health we want every student to feel supported and welcome.

The important work of public health cannot exist without a genuine commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion. At our School we make that commitment to each other and to our community.

Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Anti-Racism (IDEA) Research Awards

The IDEA Awards are a collaboration between Drexel VOICES & Allies and the Dornsife School of Public Health.

The idea for these research awards was developed initially by members of Drexel VOICES & Allies and the Public Health Doctoral Student Advisory Group (PhDSAG) via a proposal titled, "Anti-racism Research Collaborative (ARC): Acknowledging the Invisible Labor of Students of Color."

These awards are part of a pilot funding program intended to encourage the active participation of students and faculty in activities aimed at dismantling racism while compensating Dornsife students who agree to be part of these initiatives.

Dornsife piloted two awards in the 2020-2021 academic year:

The IDEA Service/Project Award funds student projects that are related to promoting and supporting diversity, inclusion and anti-racism at Dornsife (such as a service project, independent research study, or research assistantship).

The IDEA Professional Development Award funds student opportunities that contribute to their anti-racism knowledge and training (such as a conference or research expenses).
