New Study Shows Unhealthy Food Advertising Continues to Disproportionately Target Consumers of Color

Shiriki Kumanyika, PhD, a research professor in the Dornsife School of Public Health and founding chair of the Council on Black Health, was quoted in a Nov. 14 MedicalXPress story about a new study that suggests U.S. food and beverage companies disproportionately target Black and Hispanic consumers with advertising for high-calorie, low-nutrient products. Kumanyika was also quoted in a Nov. 22 USA Today story about this research.
