Violence as a Public Health Problem

Associate Professor of Health Management and Policy, Jonathan Purtle, DrPH, MPH, MSc, was quoted in a Washington Post story on Jan. 18 about the public health perspective on stabbings and gun violence. According to Dr. Purtle, many hospitals located in areas with high rates of violent crimes, are partnering with local organizations to try to reduce neighborhood violence.
