April Barnum, DO, CAQSM
April Barnum, DO, CAQSM, is a member of Drexel University's Student Health Center team and has special expertise and training in sports medicine. Board certified in family medicine, osteopathic manipulative treatment, and sports medicine, Dr. Barnum provides comprehensive medical care for Drexel students, including prevention and holistic treatment of illness and injury. She also provides medical care for physically active individuals and student athletes of all skill levels and sports. Coming from a strong athletic background herself, she feels it's important to encourage her patients to lead active, healthy lifestyles.
Dr. Barnum is a native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where she grew up playing South Jersey travel soccer. She graduated magna cum laude from Fordham University - Rose Hill Campus, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She earned her medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine (RowanSOM) in Stratford, New Jersey, where she attended medical school with her twin sister and younger brother.
Dr. Barnum has a special clinic interest in student health and wellness, soccer medicine, and performing arts medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Barnum enjoys spending time with her family, kickboxing, playing soccer, running, hiking, yoga, Zumba dance fitness, playing classical and electric cello, and traveling!
