Appointments

Visits to the Drexel Student Health Center are by appointment.

Students who are sick are encouraged to contact us as early in the day as possible in order to receive same-day services. If you are experiencing an emergency, such as chest pain, shortness of breath, limb numbness, etc., proceed to the nearest emergency room — do not go to the Student Health Center. The time delay may be critical in receiving the immediate care necessary for an optimal outcome.

Scheduling

Call 215.220.4700 for an appointment. Online self-scheduling is also available via MyChart.

Telemedicine Appointments

We also implemented telemedicine appointments to patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telemedicine is a simple way for patients to be treated by their provider by use of secure, HIPAA-compliant videoconferencing technology without an in-person visit.

Telemedicine benefits include:

  • Be seen/treated from anywhere
  • No travel time
  • No parking hassles
  • Keep your distance from others without reducing your quality of care
  • Review diagnostic tests during a Telemedicine visit

Please call 215.220.4700 to find out if you are eligible to schedule a virtual appointment.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

If you have never been to the Drexel Student Health Center before, please plan to arrive 15 minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork. You can also check in online ahead of time.

  • Valid Dragon Card (student ID)
  • Cash, check, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard) for cost of visit
  • Private insurance card; bring your physical card or a copy of the front and back of the card.
  • Any Forms needed, with your portion completed: Immunization form, physical forms for driver’s permit, club sports, rotations, etc.

No-Show/Late to Appointment Policy

When you schedule an appointment and do not cancel or reschedule, you are delaying care for other students. If you no longer need your appointment or have a change in schedule, you can easily cancel or reschedule via MyChart.

If you do not show for your appointment, your next appointment will be the next business day—if you self-schedule via MyChart for the same day but a later time, the office staff will contact you, and you will be rescheduled for the next business day.

We allow a 10-minute grace period for lateness. Patients arriving after the grace period will be assessed by an RN (Registered Nurse) or CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) to determine the urgency of the visit/concern. Visits/concerns found to be not urgent will be rescheduled for the next business day.

Cost of Visit

Refer to Student Health Billing for information on the cost of a visit.

Important Notes

  • Payment is due at time of service. Payment can also be made during E-check-in on MyChart.
  • Please know your insurance coverage for processing lab work. LabCorp or Quest Diagnostic services will bill your insurance for processing blood tests, throat cultures, etc.
  • If you need X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, etc. You will be referred off campus for these types of tests. Coverage for these services is dependent on your health insurance plan.
  • If indicated, you will be referred to specialty services, e.g. Neurology, Psychiatry, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Orthopedics, etc. available off campus. Coverage for these services is dependent on your health insurance plan.
