Create Learn More Sidebar from Existing Sitecore Page

Setup and Implementation

  1. In Sitecore, navigate to the page the sidebar should link to and draw content from.
  2. At the bottom of the page, locate the Sidebar View section and verify that the correct page fields are set to render the appropriate information. By default, the Headline, Sidebar image caption, and Page Title fields will render in this area. If there is an image in the Sidebar Image field, it will also appear. If these fields will not render the content you want to appear, move to step 3, otherwise move to step 4.
  3. In the Sidebar View Override section you can change one or all of the fields that will render. Anything in the override section will take precedence over fields selected in the Sidebar View section. You can override as many fields as you want.
  4. Save the page and Approve for publication.
  5. Navigate to a page in Sitecore that should display the sidebar.
  6. Follow the directions for adding a component. The Call to Action component is located in the Select a Rendering dialog box in Sublayouts > V2 > Sidebar > Learn More Sidebar.
    • The "Data Source" should point to the page you edited in Step 1.
  7. Click OK until all dialog boxes are closed.
  8. Save and approve the page for publication.
