Drexel University’s School of Education Ranks in Top 50 Nationally for Online Master’s Programs

Drexel University’s School of Education ranks 43rd among the 2023 best online master's in education programs by U.S. News and World Report. The School of Education ranks higher than any other institution in the region and second in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

“We are thrilled to be ranked among the top schools of education in the country,” said Erin McNamara Horvat, PhD, Interim Dean for the School of Education. “Our ranking reflects the commitments we have made to our students to provide them with a world-class education in an online format that meets the needs of their busy lives.”

The School of Education rose 17 spots in this year’s rankings. The School of Education’s position in the rankings has risen in each of the last three years.

In addition to being ranked among the best for online master’s in education programs, the School of Education also ranked 12th in the nation for best online master’s in education programs for veterans.

U.S. News evaluated online master's in education programs based on a variety of objective factors, such as student engagement, faculty credentials, and services and technologies.

The School of Education offers 15 online master’s programs in addition to post-bachelor's certificates, certifications, EdD, and PhD programs.

Besides online programs, the School of Education also offers on-campus academic programs and is part of Drexel University’s University City campus in Philadelphia. The school works closely with partnership school districts including the School District of Philadelphia. The School of Education’s Philadelphia Teacher Residency program offers those with a bachelor’s degree who are interested in teaching the opportunity to gain classroom experience while taking courses and job placement in the district upon completion of the program.

The 2023 rankings list compiled by U.S. News and World Report is designed for individuals looking to complete or further their education. This year's edition evaluates more than 1,800 online bachelor's and master's degree programs.
