Research Administration Response Guidance

The Office of Research & Innovation (ORI) has developed measures to minimize disruptions to research activities caused by COVID-19. These disruptions include closure of campus, interruptions/closure of mass transit, and faculty/staff/students unable to come to campus and/or fulfill their research functions.

Most of ORI's work can be carried out remotely if campus is closed and/or ORI staff are unable to be physically present at work. We have tested our remote work systems to ensure they are working properly and reliably. Below is a summary of our research support services and their status.

ORI staff can perform this work remotely.

COEUS proposal routing will continue to be required.

  • Please note that remote access to COEUS requires users to utilize the VPN. This requirement includes individuals who must approve COEUS proposals.

  • Instructions on how to access COEUS and VPN are available here.

  • COEUS support will continue to be provided remotely via email, phone or ZOOM.

  • If you need assistance, please contact the Research Systems and Analytics team at coeus-help@drexel.edu

  • Research Accounting Services (RAS) will also be prepared to continue to provide support to the research community – although demand and priorities may result in some delays. Questions related to research post-award, budget/finances,etc – can be sent to ras@drexel.edu

Sponsor proposal deadlines and proposal submissions

Drexel submits the majority of our research proposals to federal government funding agencies (NIH, NSF, Department of Energy, NASA, etc.) Therefore we will follow recommendations/guidelines put forth by these agencies:

Council on Government Relations (COGR)

COGR has compiled a listing of updates from federal sponsors. Researchers are encouraged to check this website often.

COGR compliled FAQs to provide guidance on the administration of federal awards. Go to COGR page below and click on PDF link for latest. Document will be updated accordingly with a date and version number.

NIH

NIH has provided guidance on COVID-19 implications for proposal submission and award management.

NSF

NSF has started a site at which they are collecting important information from several agencies

Department of Energy

Office of Management and Budget (OMB)
