Innovation
Drexel Applied Innovation consists of two teams: Intellectual Property & Agreements and Industry Engagement. Together, their mission is to expand the impact of Drexel research through technology transfer. Applied Innovation also plays a leadership role in elevating the University's innovation ecosystem through a variety of university-wide initiatives and programs to support Drexel researchers and entrepreneurs.
Impact & Commercialization
Each year, Drexel Applied Innovation typically receives 50-60 invention disclosures, executes 10 license agreements and helps launch 2-3 startup companies.
The IP & Agreements team protects Drexel inventions and discoveries through Intellectual Property development and management. The Industry Engagement team promotes Drexel researchers and innovation assets to industry partners. Across both teams, Applied Innovation also provides faculty, postdocs, and PhD students with connections to entrepreneurial training programs and resources to advance their innovations.
