Introducing the DragonSPOT Research Administration Management System
Dear Faculty, Staff and Students:
The Office of Research & Innovation is pleased to announce the initial rollout of DragonSPOT, Drexel’s new research administration management system! DragonSPOT (Sponsored Programs Online Tracking) is a cloud-based, integrated research administration management system that will replace COEUS and other related manual processes and is available to research community faculty, staff, and students.
DragonSPOT is designed to streamline and modernize research administration operations across the university, it supports Drexel’s research aspirations as detailed in our new Strategic Plan, Drexel2030, and will reduce administrative burden on faculty and staff. The system will allow the university to continue optimizing its pursuit and management of research while meeting the needs of principal investigators, administrators, university executive leadership, and various research support functions by offering:

ROLLOUT SCHEDULE
The rollout of DragonSPOT is being completed in multiple stages, outlined below. The initial stage, set for launch on Tuesday, April 20th, introduces support for IACUC protocol development and ULAR ordering and per diem management.

TRAINING
Training will be available in several different formats. During the first week of each module rollout, we encourage users to access associated training materials and attend open support hours to get logged in and familiarize themselves with the system. See below for details and registration information. If you have any issues or questions, please email dragonspot-help@drexel.edu. We are here to help!
Training Materials
Training materials for both modules (Lab Animals and Animals Facilities Management) will be available on the DragonSPOT, Animal Care and Use (IACUC), and ULAR webpages on Tuesday, April 20th On-demand video trainings are currently being developed and will be posted as soon as they are completed, including targeted snippets to allow users to quickly find the information and training they need.
Open Support Hours
Drop in at your convenience during the hours listed below to inquire about the system, process, timelines, or other animal protocol or animal facility questions with the IACUC Office, ULAR Office, and Research Systems & Analytics teams.
DragonSPOT Open Support Hours will be held on the following dates:
- Lab Animals (IACUC) Module: Thursday, April 22, 2021, 11am – 12pm (Password required. See below.)
- Animal Facilities (ULAR) Module: Wednesday, April 21, 2021, 11am – 12pm (Password required. See below.)

Live Training
The IACUC Office, ULAR Office, and Research Systems & Analytics teams will host 1-hour detailed review and training sessions for the DragonSPOT Lab Animals (IACUC) and Animal Facilities Management (ULAR) modules.
DragonSPOT live trainings (Zoom) will be held on the following dates:
- Lab Animals (IACUC) Module: Monday, April 26, 2021, 1pm – 2pm
- Animal Facilities (ULAR): Tuesday, April 27, 2021, 11am – 12pm
