Training on New Research Intelligence Tools

The Office of Research and Innovation and the Office of Institutional Advancement have invested in two Elsevier solutions in support of the research enterprise: Scopus and SciVal.

On Tuesday, December 10, 2019, Elsevier will be on-site to provide a hands-on introduction to these two solutions.

Scopus – Discover, analyze & network (1 hour session offered at either 8:30am or 1:00pm)
Scopus is the broadest source of global scientific research, featuring citations from scientific journals, books and conference proceedings to help you to track, analyze and visualize research, and foster collaboration.

In the session, you will learn:

  • How to Interpret and work with author profiles (author identity)
  • Execute searches using the full range of topical search functionality offered in Scopus (search strategies)
  • Conduct comparative analytics and develop visualizations

SciVal – Evaluate, plan & benchmark (2 hour session offered from 10:00am to 12:00pm)
