New Director of Human Research Protection

March 18, 2019

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce that after an almost year-long search, Gabrielle Rebillard will become the new Director of the Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) within the Office of Research, effective March 18, 2019.

Gabrielle joins us from Temple University, where she served within the Human Research Protection Program, and boasts extensive experience in IRB support, human research training and outreach, and compliance procedures. Gabrielle holds an M.S. in Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance from Temple University.

The Human Research Protection Program is integral in protecting the rights, dignity, and welfare of human subjects who participate in the research programs at Drexel University and its affiliates. As an AAHRPP-accredited institution, it is our mission to uphold the highest standards in the ethical conduct of research, including the protection of human participants, while enabling its faculty, staff and students to conduct research in a timely and efficient manner. We believe that the appointment of Gabrielle is essential to realizing this mission.

Over the next few weeks and months, we will be reaching out to many of you to schedule preliminary meetings with Gabrielle to continue fostering a dynamic research community.

Thank you to all the critical stakeholders who were able to help interview candidates and assist with this important decision. As you know, selecting new leadership is an important and rewarding task that helps to ensure the future success of the HRPP for our faculty and our students. I want to express my appreciation for your contribution to the search process.

Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Gabrielle when she starts at Drexel on March 18. She will be located on the 7th floor of Bellet with the rest of our Human Research Protection team.

Thank you,

Kairi Williams
