Foreign Travel Security

The Office of Global Engagement (OGE) provides travel health and safety support for all community members who travel on behalf of the University. OGE is also charged with overseeing compliance with the pre-departure travel requirements for non-credit-bearing student travel and faculty / staff trip leaders.

Drexel University asks that all International Drexel related business travel of faculty, staff or graduate students, be registered.

Disclosure of travel to locations deemed high-risk is required per Drexel’s Political, Environment and Natural Disaster (PEND) evacuation and assistance provider. Most of these countries are conflict or post-conflict zones and are not frequented by Drexel travelers.

Benefits of Registering

Registration allows Drexel to provide individuals and groups with pre-travel preparation and travel advice, especially when the planned travel takes you to high-risk destinations.

Registration also allows Drexel to communicate with travelers when incidents affecting travel and operations occur overseas, including natural disasters, civil unrest or terrorism, or outbreak of disease. It also ensures compliance with National Security Presidential Memorandum-33 (NSPM-33)

See OGE’s Emergency Assistance page for more information.
