Drexel Awarded CALEA Accreditation for DUPD and Public Safety Communications
Drexel University is proud to announce that its police department and public safety communications center were awarded reaccreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA) on Nov. 15, 2025. This achievement reflects Drexel’s continued commitment to excellence, accountability, and the highest standards of public safety and community service.
CALEA's reaccreditation recognizes the hard work and dedication of our Public Safety team, whose efforts ensure that Drexel remains a safe, supportive, and well-protected environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to this process and helped uphold the values and professionalism that define our university. Together, we remain steadfast in our mission to provide a secure and thriving campus community.
The Drexel University Police Department and Public Safety Communications Center received their first CALEA accreditation in 2011 and have continued to achieved reaccreditation since then. Congratulations to all involved in reaching this important milestone.
