Drexel Extends SEPTA Key Advantage Program
Last spring, Drexel launched a six-month pilot program with SEPTA in which the University provided free, all-access Key Card passes to full-time, benefit-eligible employees. The program was very well received with almost 2,000 Drexel faculty and staff riding SEPTA rails, subways and busses at no personal cost. We applaud the actions taken by those who have participated to further the University’s commitment to sustainability. As originally noted, the pilot was scheduled to end on October 31, 2022.
We are pleased to announce the extension of this pilot program through June 30, 2023. We are also expanding the eligibility to now include part-time, benefit-eligible employees.
The University will continue to evaluate the program over the coming months, and we will keep you updated on any future extensions or modifications that may be needed, but for now the program will continue to function the same way it has been for the last six months.
Employees currently enrolled in the SEPTA Key Advantage Program do not need to take any action to continue riding SEPTA at no personal cost. Eligible employees who have not yet enrolled, including part-time, benefit-eligible employees who are newly eligible, have until October 20 to obtain a SEPTA Key Card (if you do not already have one) and register it with the program, in order to begin using the benefit on Nov. 1.
For complete details on eligibility and how to obtain and use your card, please review the SEPTA Key Advantage FAQs and How-to User Guide [PDF].
