DRAGON DIALOGUE SERIES: Respecting Differences: Uncomfortable Conversations (15 Wellness Points)

Tuesday, May 11, 2021

1:00 PM-2:00 PM

It can be difficult to navigate when to say something, and when to not. It can be painful in many ways to not speak up, yet the push back from speaking can feel almost intolerable.

During this two-part workshop, we will look at a few ways to navigate life in our current climate. We will focus on finding ways to speak up clearly and directly. On how to have more confidence and clarity about when to say something and why, as well as when not to. We will explore finding ways to receive empathy and understanding when you are in distress. Part One “Compassion Fatigue” will be held in May 2021. It is recommended, but not required, that you attend both sessions.

During this session, we will explore:

1. Navigating conversations that are uncomfortable with people you want to stay in relationship with..

2. How to shift relationships that you may no longer want to participate in.

Dr. Terrie Lewine started her healthcare career in 1997 doing transformational bodywork known as Network Chiropractic. With the idea that community and connection are key to vibrant health, Terrie has been studying developmental and evolutionary psychology. She has also been facilitating Nonviolent Communication (NVC) workshops since 2007, and she offers private coaching to individuals and couples to help them create the lives/relationships they want.

This talk is part of our Dragon Dialogue Series, a new series of wellbeing workshops for Drexel employees.

2020 was an unprecedented year. We all faced many challenges, obstacles, isolation, and loss. In doing so, we also learned how essential community and social connection can be in weathering life’s storms.

In response to these tumultuous times, Drexel is offering its employees The Dragon Dialogue Series. This new series will feature curated conversations and workshops throughout 2021.

The Dragon Dialogue Series will cover a broad range of topics related to mental health and emotional wellbeing.

These events will offer Drexel employees opportunities for conversation and guided exercises to enhance their wellbeing in this brand-new year.

Together is better.
