Drexel in France: CIEE Rennes

CIEE Rennes is a language intensive program for Global Studies majors or minors, or French Minors. The program takes place at the Université de Haute Bretagne in Rennes, one of France’s most beautiful cities just two hours outside of Paris. Students have the opportunity to study French language, humanities, and other subjects. It is offered fall term only and has a perquisite of FREN 310.

Drexel in France: Ecole Superieure du Commerce Exterieur (ESCE)

Ecole Superieure du Commerce Exterieur (ESCE) is one of the top French business schools, located in the heart of Paris, in a living quarter comprising more than 22,000 companies. Classes are taught in English and French and are taken with both French and international students. The program runs for the fall and winter terms. Students with a majors, minor, or concentration in business are eligible to apply.

Drexel in France: Sciences Po

Sciences Po is recognized as one of the top schools for social sciences in the world, consisting of seven campuses across the country, each with a distinct geographical focus: North and South America, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. It is a highly international university with students from 130 counties and courses taught in 18 languages. All campuses have a lively mix of culture and language and a strong sense of community. The program is open to Global Studies majors or minors, or French Minors. For students planning to take classes only in English, the language requirement is ​FREN 103. ​Students taking classes in French have a language requirement of FREN 310.

Drexel in Paris and London: Dual City Summer

The Dual City Summer program is an opportunity to study in two major European capitals in one term.  Students will spend 4 weeks at Ecole Superiere de Commerce Exterieur (ESCE) in Paris, followed by 4 weeks at the Foundation for International Education (FIE) in London. Courses in Business, Hospitality, Merchandising, Language, and Culture are taught by local faculty at both schools for a fully immersive experience.  This program has no language requirement and is open to all majors.

GE3: France, Universite Technologique de Troyes (UTT)

This program, offered through the Global Engineering Education Exchange (GE3), is an immersive experience for students majoring in engineering, computing, and informatics to improve their language skills and explore their academic interests from a French perspective. Universite Technologique de Troyes (UTT) is located in the northeast of France, about 90 minutes from Paris. Coursework is taught primarily in French with English tutoring available, so this program has a pre-requisite of FREN 310. It is offered to pre-Juniors and juniors during fall and spring terms.

GE3: France, Institut National des Sciences Appliquées (INSA Lyon)

Institut National des Sciences Appliqueés (INSA Lyon) is ranked as one of the top universities of science and technology in Europe. Students in engineering and information technologies have an opportunity to improve their French language skills and step into their culturally enriched history. Situated at the heart of Europe, Lyon is the second largest city in France. Classes are taught in both French and English and taken with local and international students. The program runs in the fall or spring. FREN 103 is a pre-requisite for coursework in English; FREN 310 is a pre-requisite for coursework in French. INSA Lyon also offers an “IST English” track during fall term for students in informatics and computing.

GE3 France, Computing & Informatics in Lyon

INSA Lyon offers the IST English option through three of their engineering departments (Telecommunication, Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering) in collaboration with three research laboratories. Students take courses in these subjects, as well as a French language class, and research project. This program is offered fall term to pre-juniors and juniors in the College of Computing and Informatics. FREN 101 is recommended but not required.

GE3: France Fame Electrical Engineering Spring

The French American Exchange (FAME) is offered by Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l’Electronique et de ses Applications (ENSEA), which is located in the university town of Cergy-Pontoise, a suburb of Paris. Students have an opportunity to improve their French language skills and to explore their academic interests from a French perspective. This program is offered spring term to electrical or computer engineering students and has a language pre-requisite of FREN 101.
