Located on the Kowloon peninsula in Hong Kong, City University of Hong Kong (CityU) offers an international curriculum and multicultural diversity of faculty and students. Since CityU’s establishment as a University in 1994, it has grown remarkably in both size and prestige. It is currently ranked 49th in the QS World University Rankings. Established in 1911 on Hong Kong Island, the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is the territory's oldest institute of higher learning. Today, HKU is internationally renowned as a research-led comprehensive university, with frontier research endeavors and scholarly achievements that have won it worldwide acclaim. Drexel's exchange program with HKU allows Drexel students to study at one of the top universities in Hong Kong, becoming fully immersed in the education, culture and daily life of both Hong Kong and HKU. The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is coeducational, with a total enrollment of approximately 9,100 students. It is located a half hour by public transit from Hong Kong island and sits along the coast in Clearwater Bay. Despite its short history, HKUST has been consistently ranked among the top 25 technology universities in the world by the UK Times Higher Education Supplement every year ever since the survey was first done in 2004. This program is available for Fall, Spring, and Summer terms for CoE, Biomed, or CCI majors only.
