Sokona Diallo | Mali Sokona Diallo has dedicated over 5 years to implementing research and community development projects focused on Agriculture and Environmental Sustainability. Currently, an Intern Assistant at the GO GREEN Project within the Netherlands Development Organization (SNV), Sokona passionately supports the promotion of Green Employment and Entrepreneurship initiatives among over 2400 youth, addressing critical crosscutting issues including climate change, gender equality, social inclusion, and Youth empowerment. Also, a fervent climate leader within JVE-International in Mali, Sokona has undertaken climate advocacy activities to catalyze enabling decisions for achieving the 1.5°C ambition under the Paris Agreement as well as climate actions to foster resilience. Holding a Master's Degree in Climate Change and Sustainable Development, she has previously worked for NGO-AMSD as Assistant Project Manager, helping upscale hundreds of Malian farmers through training on climate-resilient agroecological practices. Post the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Sokona's vision is to establish a Social Enterprise aimed at adding value to organic waste to help increase African farmers' accessibility to efficient organic fertilizers for more climate-conscious agriculture, while advocating for climate justice, and elevating her community's environmental literacy and action to advance sustainable development.
