For the third year in a row, Drexel University has been selected as an Institute Partner for the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders. In summer 2019, the Office of Global Engagement and Education Abroad, in partnership with the Goodwin College of Professional Studies and the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement, will host 25 of Africa's brightest leaders in civic engagement for a six-week leadership institute, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.
The Mandela Washington Fellowship, the flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), empowers young African leaders through academic coursework, leadership training, mentoring, networking, professional opportunities and local community engagement.
