Bridge Construction Close I-76 East Center City
Eastbound I-76 between I-676 and 30th Street
Start Date: August 31, 2026 | 10:00 PM
End Date: September 3, 2026 | 5:00 AM
Monday, August 31, through Thursday, September 3, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, eastbound I-76 (Schuylkill Expressway) will be closed and detoured between the I-676 and 30th Street interchanges. During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Arch Street/30th Street, Chestnut Street, and Schuylkill Avenue.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area or along the detour route because backups and delays will occur.
I-76 Eastbound Closure Notice (PennDOT)
7-Eleven sidewalk and parking lot closure

Start Date: August 26, 2026 | 7:00 AM
End Date: September 1, 2026 | 7:00 AM
The sidewalk along 34th Street by 7-Eleven will be replace beginning Wednesday, 8/26 at 7:00 AM and is expected to be completed by Thursday, 8/27 at 11:00 PM.
Additionally, the driveway will be milled and repaved on Monday, 8/31. No parking will be permitted at the location during the repaving work.
Please follow all posted detour signage.
7-Eleven will remain open throughout the project. Please plan accordingly.
