Yellow Ribbon Program

Drexel University has committed over $20 million since 2009 to offer free education to an unlimited number of eligible military veterans and their dependents across all of the University's full- and part-time undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and professional programs — both on campus and online — as part of its participation in the new GI Bill's® Yellow Ribbon Program.

In the program, a partnership between the federal government and Drexel, the University will match the government's contribution to the cost of an education.

The benefits of participating in the Yellow Ribbon Program at Drexel include:

  • Tuition and fees covered 100% for eligible veterans and dependents (eligibility requires 100% of entitlement to the Post-9/11 GI Bill®.
  • No cap on the number of Yellow Ribbon participants.
  • All programs on all campuses and online are available to Yellow Ribbon participants.

How to apply for Yellow Ribbon Benefits and Financial Aid

  • Eligible veterans or designated transferees do not need to complete a formal application for the Yellow Ribbon Program. By submitting documentation that proves 100% eligibility for the Post-9/11 GI Bill® you will automatically be enrolled to receive the benefits of the Yellow Ribbon Program.
  • Submit a copy of your Certification of Eligibility letter and a completed Drexel Veterans' Benefits Certification Form [PDF].
  • Please note that currently serving active duty members and spouses are not eligible for Yellow Ribbon benefits.

If you would like to request Drexel certify your VA Benefits for terms in which you will be on co-op, please complete the Veterans Co-op Certification Form [PDF] and submit to Drexel Central.

If you want Drexel to refrain from certifying VA Benefits for a specific timeframe, please complete the Veterans Do Not Certify Request Form [PDF] and submit to Drexel Central.
