239 Experts With One Big Claim: The Coronavirus Is Airborne
July 4, 2020
Joseph Amon, PhD, a clinical professor and director of the Office of Global Health in the Dornsife School of Public Health, was cited in a July 4 New York Times article about scientists urging the World Health Organization to update recommendations on how to prevent transmission of the coronavirus indoors.
The article states, "In a less public instance, the W.H.O. said there was 'no evidence to suggest' that people with H.I.V. were at increased risk from the coronavirus." After Amon, "who has sat on many agency committees, pointed out that the phrasing was misleading, the W.H.O. changed it to say the level of risk was 'unknown.'"
The article was also printed July 5 in the Seattle Times, Yahoo! News, SF Gate, Star Tribune, and other outlets nationwide.
