PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
This week-long intensive immersion course provides participants with theory and hands-on training with leading-edge simulation skills. Exploring state-of-the-art computerized manikins (Human Patient Simulators, or HPS) software platforms and patient actors, also known as standardized patients or participants (SP).
The curriculum covers a broad spectrum — from design and implementation of simulation scenarios to setting up and running a simulation center. Participants completing the week-long course will earn a Drexel University "Certificate in Simulation."

Outcome
To enable the nurse and healthcare professional to increase knowledge on simulation strategies, simulation case development, simulation case implementation, simulation case evaluation, debriefing strategies and moulage techniques.

Overall Program Objectives
1. Discuss the creation and management of a simulation center
2. Describe the creation and implementation of HPS and SP scenarios
3. Discuss the evaluation process to include debriefing and satisfaction

Drexel University (DREXEL) College of Nursing and Health Professions, Division of Continuing Nursing Education is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP13661 for 27.25 contact hours.

Standards for Integrity and Independence
The provider will collect information from all individuals in a position to control content regarding financial relationships with ineligible companies, analyze the data for relevant financial relationships related to the educational content; and mitigate relevant financial relationships.
