The Graduate Student Association (GSA), in partnership with the Office of Research & Innovation and Graduate College, hosted the sixth annual Drexel Emerging Graduate Scholars (DEGS) Conference, a free, student-run, University-wide conference highlighting Drexel's graduate student research, April 13 & 14, 2022.

About the Conference

The annual conference provides opportunities for graduate and professional students at all levels of study to showcase their work to the greater Drexel community, engage in professional development, network with student peers, postdocs, alumni, faculty and professional staff, and complete for monetary awards.

All students, postdocs, faculty, professional staff, alumni, and guests of the University are invited to engage with the conference.

Format

The conference took place in a hybrid format with both in-person and virtual presentations utilizing Zoom meetings and a SharePoint site. Most in-person events were webcast live and recorded for later viewing.

Back-To-School Drive at DEGS

Releasing the dragon is about giving back. The GSA will lead and inspire the next generation of Dragons when we kick off our inaugural Back-to-School Drive at the 2022 DEGS Conference in support of the North Philly Aztecs and local Philadelphia public schools in need. We are asking all DEGS 2022 attendees to bring their Dragon pride and a few much-needed school supplies.

Suggested items include:

  • Backpacks
  • Pens
  • Pencils (Colored, Number 2, etc.)
  • Glue
  • Crayons
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Paper
  • Construction Paper
  • Notebooks
  • Folders

DGWiSE Clothing Drive & Fundraiser

In honor of Earth Day, the Drexel Graduate Women in Science and Engineering (DGWiSE) would like to help promote a sustainable fashion future by hosting a clothing drive and fundraiser. Start your spring cleaning by cleaning out your closet and donating unused clothing! Donations will be sent to thredUP, an online consignment shop, to be re-sold at a discount price or recycled properly. Proceeds from clothing sold will go to DGWiSE. Thank you in advance!
