Join Us for the Virtual Fall 2022 CIRTL General Meeting

CIRTL

October 7, 2022

Drexel’s Chapter of The Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) seeks to enhance excellence in STEM undergraduate education through supporting development of faculty and future faculty committed to implementing and advancing evidence-based teaching practices for diverse learners.

You are invited to join us on Thursday Oct. 13 for two exciting virtual opportunities to learn more about supporting diversity, equity and inclusion in STEM Education and Drexel CIRTL:

  • CIRTL Keynote: The Notion of Critical Race Theory (CRT) Should Not Be a Dirty Word in Higher Education: Unpacking Positionality in STEM Research and Teaching - Dr. Alonzo Flowers (October 13 - 2:00 PM ET)
    Description
     | Zoom Registration
  • CIRTL Student Panel: Experiences in CIRTL Cross-Network STEM Education Courses and Programming and CIRTL Local Learning Communities (October 13 - 5:15PM ET)
    Zoom Registration

Through Drexel's CIRTL membership, graduate students, post-doctoral scholars and faculty may also create a CIRTL Network Account online and take advantage of CIRTL programs, workshops, webinars and more. The CIRTL Network runs online events in Blackboard Collaborate for the cross-Network learning community throughout the academic year. In addition to the national network offerings, Drexel hosts programs built around CIRTL's core ideas. Participating in local and national online offerings can earn you levels of nationally-recognized CIRTL Achievement Certificates, which distinguish emerging leaders in evidence-based teaching practices among future faculty. Offered as a part of national initiatives to advance quality teaching in higher education, CIRTL certificates are an increasingly recognizable credential in today’s competitive academic job market.

The CIRTL Community at Drexel is hosted by The Center for the Advancement of STEM Teaching and Learning Excellence (CASTLE). The CASTLE community is happy to support and answer any questions about CIRTL. We can be reached at: castle@drexel.edu. We look forward to engaging with you as part of this community!

Sincerely,

Dr. Jennifer Stanford (she, her, hers)
Associate Professor, Department of Biology
