Workshop Series 2023

12/10/22
9am-12pm
Rotation Station with Jmo

How would it feel to truly access stability, strength, and freedom from tension in the hips and shoulders? To fully explore a healthy range of motion? This workshop is focused on the use of rotator discs, an often unsung but always valuable prop. We will utilize discs and other supplementary props to fire up the muscles deep inside the shoulder and hip. We will step into a greater understanding of the rotator cuff and its vital role in both Pilates practice and everyday life. Participants will experience how firing the rotator cuff supports improved posture and access to strong, balanced arms. We will use rotator discs to investigate the deep-six rotators of the hip, finding balance and support while seeking strategies for releasing tension.

Participants will complete the workshop armed with an understanding of how these “rotation stations” play a vital role in Pilates practice we will jump into a fiery Pilates mat and props workout that allows participants to feel a deep and balanced connection through the shoulders and hips.

3/11/23
9am-12pm
Foam Roller with Theresa

In this three-hour workshop, we will flow through movement sequences with the foam roller inspired by classical Pilates vocabulary and functional movement in addition to moving through myofascial release-based exercises. We will work with the central theme of play as the foam roller changes the body’s relationship to gravity and sense of stability, encouraging the nervous system to continuously learn where risk and stability meet. This approach to the work allows for many outcomes and creates space for you to show up for your body through a curious, informed lens.

6/17/23
9am-12pm
Pilates Apparatus Variations with Jessica

This three-hour workshop is designed to investigate fun modifications, variations, and advanced techniques on the Pilates apparatus. Pilates instructors will learn new exercise series on the tower, reformer, and wunda chair to inspire class flow and sequence variety. Come collaborate with fellow teachers to support our client’s appetites for creative variations of the work they love.
