Focusing on common pain points like lower back, hips, shoulders and neck, we will experience options for fascial release using small balls and incorporate them into Pilates flows. We will look at foot anatomy and move through foot opening and strengthening exercises, consider how movement feels different with feet as the initiator, and play with trying on different Pilates and functional movement vocabulary. Attendees can expect both isolated and full body movement and to geek about feet.

Building Balance through Pilates with Ali
Join Senior Pilates Instructor and Doctor of Physical Therapy, Ali Lodise, for a 3-hour workshop about the balance and Pilates. What do we mean when we say "balance?" The three main systems that contribute to balance are the visual system, vestibular system and proprioceptive system. In this workshop participants will learn about these systems and how to address balance in Pilates sessions. The workshop will begin with a group mat Pilates class followed by an interactive lecture and small group circuits on the Pilates equipment. Reach out to Ali at akl87@drexel.edu to discuss questions or concerns.
