Interior Design Educators Council Foundation Graduate Scholar Award

March 05, 2020

Graduate Interior Design Student, Lisa Patusky, was awarded the Interior Design Educators Council Foundation Graduate Scholar Award at the IDEC Annual Conference in Tulsa, OK. The award includes $1,000 scholarship to attend the conference, mentorship by industry leaders Cary Johnson (Senior Associate at Gensler) and Katherine Ankerson (Dean of College of Architecture University of Nebraska-Lincoln), and recognition of the student’s pursuit of design education. Patusky’s essay, on the importance of material knowledge and hands on learning for design students, was one of only three selected nationally. Lisa is currently working on her master’s thesis, in which she is building full-scale models and exploring the relationship between materials and the embodied experience.
