The Triangle is hosting office hours on Monday, September 16 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. for freshmen to learn about student journalism, its impact and newspaper production.

At 12:15, they will return to the Pearlstein Building for lunch followed by a tour of the Baiada Institute and induction into the Close Club.

Join us for a fun filled IN PERSON drag bingo. It's sure to be a night of laughs, fun, and prizes! 

Join us for a walking tour of the neighborhoods surrounding Drexel. Beginning at the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement at 9:00am, participants will enjoy a light breakfast before we depart on our tour at 9:30am. Over the course of this walking tour, we will get familiarized with some of the neighborhoods surrounding Drexel campus, have an opportunity to speak with local leaders, and learn about the rich history of our community. The tour will close with a brief reflection over cold treats at the Lindy Center.

This session is open to all new military-connected students at Drexel to help them get to know more about the resources and military friendly campus community.  The Center for Military and Veteran Services along with the Military Transition Program will be contacting all confirmed students with the details of the event which starts at 9:30am and ends at 2pm.  There will be time to get to know current student-veterans and military dependents and hear about their experiences, network with Veteran Task Force members, tour campus and see the Veterans Lounge. The Leonard Pearlstein Gallery of Drexel University’s Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design, in collaboration with Mural Arts Philadelphia, presents the career-spanning work of Cey Adams, a New York-based visionary artist working at the forefront of design, culture, innovation, and collaboration. The retrospective exhibition, “Cey Adams, Departure: 40 Years of Art and Design,” is on display Friday, August 2 through Saturday, October 5.

MOLD MAKING & LIFECASTING WORKSHOP

Ready. Set. College! Explore the Drexel Libraries before classes begin. Take a guided tour of the W. W. Public Safety’s self-protection program, SAFE, aims to give Drexel students, faculty and staff the practical skills, resources and knowledge you can use to increase your personal safety and protect yourself in an unsafe situation. The program focuses on your mindset, self-awareness, techniques that could assist in the event of a physical assault, and information on how and to whom you should report incidents and any safety concerns. 

This is a hands-on class and we encourage you to register with a friend.  Participants are required to complete two forms in order to attend: Registration and Release Form; General Wellness Form. 

Come to Writers Room for lunch and a conversation about home, community, and what it means to be a new member of this beautiful neighborhood. Design Thinking Lecture and First Year Experience Orientation

This Ceremony is our opportunity to welcome new students to the Dornsife School of Public Health and the field of public health. Students will hear from a keynote speaker and learn of the school’s commitment to social justice and our vision of health as a human right. The pinning ceremony is a long-standing tradition and was first instituted at the School nearly 20 years ago by the founding Dean and humanitarian, Dr. Jonathan Mann. The goals of this program are to heighten awareness in the University community, deter would-be thieves, and provide law enforcement with valuable crime-solving information.

This free program takes only a few minutes to complete and includes:

• Documentation of property description, serial number and owner information;

• Engraving your property with a registration number;

• A registration program sticker applied to your property.

“Mecha Maker: Bridging Art, Culture, and Technology," a unique welcome week event exploring the fascinating world of Mecha through an interactive workshop and discussion. Throughout the event participants will learn about 3d printing and have the opportunity to assemble and paint their own Mecha inspired robot. Are you smarter than blue and white will be an event based off of the popular trivia TV show where participants will get the chance to compete for a prize and see if they are smarter than the Kappa Sigma chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated or the men of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. with a trivia game. The trivia questions will vary from school facts, popular culture, music, etc. Do you think you’re smarter than blue and white come find out?
