Mindfulness Matters: Channeling Our Awareness to Innovate, Lead, and Create 

Continuing Education Programs

With the challenges of the global pandemic; the influences of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on technology, connectedness, and the way the world operates as one complex system; and the need to prepare students for a constantly changing and unknown future, leaders, and educational leaders in particular face numerous and urgent challenges in their daily lives. These challenges create stress and uncertainty for leaders and educational leaders, manifesting in personal or professional anxiety or tension and increasing the risk of burnout. This course enables leaders and educational leaders to discover, develop, and deploy the skills of mindfulness-based stress management, authentic self, creativity, leadership, and sustainable change making to improve human understanding through the lens of stress management and problem solving. This course empowers leaders and educational leaders to apply these skills to navigating the challenges they face in their daily lives, from a foundation of stress management and creativity.

Course Objectives:

  • Gaining mindfulness-based coping strategies for identifying and managing stress
  • Exploring the connections between mindfulness, authentic self, creativity, leadership, and creating sustainable change
  • Developing a deeper sense of self-actualization and personal strengths

  • June 14, 6:00-8:30pm Face to Face: Course Introduction, Introduction to Stress, Introduction to Mindfulness, Mindfulness Exercise I (2.5 hours, 10 mins break, Assignment I - 0.5 hours)
  • June 21, Asynchronous with optional Q&A check-in session: Check In, Review, and Mindfulness Exercise II (1 hour)
  • June 28, 6:00-8:30pm Face to Face: Discovering Your Inner Creativity to Lean In and Lead Out, Mindfulness Exercise V (2.5 hours, 10 mins break, Assignment II - 0.5 hours)
  • July 5, Asynchronous with optional Q&A check-in session: Mindfulness Exercise III and IV, Course Written Reflections (1 hour)
  • July 12, 6:00-8:30pm Face to Face: Course Showcase and Celebration (1.5 - 2 hours, 10 mins break)

Dr. Christine Galib 

Dr. Christine Galib is systems-thinker, mindfulness practitioner and teacher, educational leader, innovation ecosystem builder, and founder with a non-linear career and over a dozen years of experience and demonstrated success in leadership and business development, strategy and execution, instructional and program design, change and organizational management, coaching and mentoring, creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial mindset development, and education. As an avid reader, she loves getting lost in a good book.
