Drexel University’s School of Education Jumps Nearly 50 Spots in Latest US News Rankings for Best Online Education Programs January 15, 2019 US News and World Report released its 2019 rankings for Best Online Programs and Drexel University ranked #54 for Best Online Education programs, tops among all colleges and universities in the Philadelphia region. Drexel moved up 47 spots from last year’s ranking. Drexel scored an 81 on US News’ evaluation, a 10-point increase over last year. “We are thrilled that US News has recognized the great progress we have made in the School of Education over the past year in regard to our online education programs,” said Penny Hammrich, PhD, Interim Dean for the School of Education. “We have made solid enhancements to our curriculum and program offerings, as well as expanded our staffing to better meet the needs of our students.” US News evaluated degree-granting online programs at regionally accredited institutions. US News ranked 299 schools in its 2019 rankings for Best Education Programs. Drexel University’s School of Education offers 42 online education programs including a Bachelor of Science in Education, 14 master’s degree programs, a 100% online EdD program, and a wide range of certification and post-bachelor’s certificate programs. “We realize that online education is a critical tool in helping people reach their education goals, that is why about 85% of our programs are fully online,” remarked Dr. Hammrich. “At Drexel, we aim to provide a challenging academic experience in a convenient format so that our graduates not only earn their degree but can go on to be strong leaders in their field.” The full list of online education program rankings can be viewed on the US News website, https://www.usnews.com/education/online-education.
