Limited Submissions and Intramural Funding Portal
The Limited Submissions and Intramural Funding Portal offers a diverse range of internal funding opportunities and limited submissions. Whether it is a federal agency or private foundation, if a sponsor limits the number of proposals that the University may submit, a competition is facilitated through the Funding Portal to identify the most meritorious projects.
Federal Limited Submission Competition Process
The Office of Research & Innovation holds internal competitions for federal applications well in advance of submission deadlines, typically at least 120 days prior. Visit the site often, as some competitions have shorter application windows based on sponsor announcement timing. Investigators are encouraged to contact fundingportal@drexel.edu if they identify a limited submission funding opportunity not offered on Drexel's Funding Portal, or have additional inquiries, comments or concerns.
Apply
Faculty are encouraged to browse the Limited Submissions and Intramural Funding Portal for relevant federal opportunities, and apply to listings by the posted deadline in requested content format (letter of inquiry, pre-proposal, nomination, or white paper).
Review
A peer review panel comprised of faculty in or adjacent to the research area evaluates federal applications consistent with the criteria defined in the sponsor’s funding announcement. Peer review feedback, such as scores and criterion comments, are aggregated and anonymously shared with applicants, regardless of the final decision (award or declination).

Final Decision
The peer review panel makes recommendations, and investigators are notified electronically of the decision. Our goal is to assist faculty in producing high-quality, compelling, competitive proposals. For funding opportunities with multiple cycles, declined applicants are encouraged to re-submit.
