AAAS 2023 Annual Meeting – Science for Humanity: Call for Proposals
The Office of Research & Innovation is excited to share that Drexel will be a host institution for theAAAS 2023 Annual Meeting that will be held virtually and in-person March 2 through 5, 2023 in Washington, DC. The meeting will highlight groundbreaking multi-disciplinary research that advances knowledge and responds equitably to the needs of humanity.
The 2023 AAAS Annual Meeting, Science for Humanity call for proposals opened on March 21, 2022 for Scientific Sessions, Lightning Talks, and Workshops.

Scientific Sessions - Deadline: Thursday, June 16, 2022 11:59 p.m. PT
Scientific sessions should focus on topics and projects with broad appeal and relevance. A panel composed of 3 speakers will each give pre-recorded Spotlight Videos with individual presentations and discussions with a moderator about their work (approximately 15 minutes each), followed by a live 45-minute discussion and Q&A session.
Lightning Talk Format - Deadline: Thursday, June 16, 2022 11:59 p.m. PT
Lightning talks offer early career researchers the opportunity to have the stage to themselves for ten minutes (one speaker only per submission).
Workshops - Deadline: Monday, July 25, 2022 11:59 p.m. PT
Workshops should be aimed at individuals seeking careers in science and engineering and professionals looking to sharpen or supplement their skills. These workshops are instructional and interactive in nature and are markedly different from a scientific session. Workshops may have up to 3 presenters and will be 45 minutes in length.
For submissions from Drexel faculty that AAAS formally accepts, the Office of Research & Innovation will provide a travel subsidy award up to $500 for faculty to present at the meeting. Details on how to apply for the travel subsidy will be shared once acceptance has been confirmed by AAAS.
